BEST BOD Workouts for the Hotel

If you are in the know, you know that BOD (Beachbody On Demand) is the best thing since sliced bread! There are about 1,000 workouts on there and the list is GROWING every few months! There is something for everyone: cardio, weights, dance, yoga, MMA, agility, and coming soon, barre! You can stream from your phone, iPad, laptop, Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, or Roku.

Thus, the beauty is . . . you can take the BOD with you anywhere!

I have a number of clients who travel (A LOT) and don’t always want to brave the hotel gym. In order to best help them (and you), I have compiled a list of my favorite workouts to take on the go, where you need nothing but YOU. Note, some of you may prefer a yoga mat, but I have used an extra hotel room towel many a times.

At the end of the day you just need to throw out your excuses and MAKE IT WORK! Below I am sharing with you some of my fave workouts from my fave programs that I default to when I travel. Some of the links will also give you a taste of what to expect from that particular progam.

Cardio

The absolute best cardio you are going to get in your hotel room with NO equipment? Anything Shaun T. of course! If you need something quick and efficient, default to Focus T:25 Alpha. All of the workouts are good and if you want something to get you sweating and get you stretched, go for Speed 1.0. It is FUN and he gives you stretching breaks throughout! Perfect after a long flight. Best part? All the T:25 workouts are just 25 minutes!

If you want to torture yourself . . . go for Insanity Max 30: Friday Fight or Day 7 Of Shaun Week: Dig Deep.

Good for the Soul, but a workout too!

I cannot say enough about PiYo. PiYo is a combination of Pilates and Yoga and is the first program I ever bought back in the day when all of these were just DVD’s! In every single one of these workouts, not only do you sweat, but your soul is just happier, hence, this is my soulmate workout and what I always turn to when I am between programs. My two faves? PiYo Sweat and PiYo Strength Intervals.

Another workout that will just make you happy and fulfilled? Morning Meltdown Freestyle Flow. My faves are 65 and 85.

STRETCH/Yoga

There are so many good yoga workouts on the BOD, that sometimes it is really hard to choose! I typically head over to the Beachbody Yoga Studio and find something that speaks to me and that I have enough time for. I love:

  • Shoulder Care with Caley Alyssa (she uses a Yoga strap, but you can improvise with a hotel towel)
  • Yoga for Low Back Pain with Vytas (I love anything Vytas . . .)
  • Blissful Power Flow with Elise
  • Hip Opening Flow with Faith

I also rely on the yoga from 21 Day Fix Extreme. That yoga workout was a game changer for me and was what made me actually LOVE yoga.

Core

You all know by now that core exercises alone will not give you a 6-pack (abs are made in the kitchen!) BUT, when you want to feel that fire in your core and where you KNOW you worked? Here are my faves that you can take anywhere:

  • Core Strength with Vytas (Yoga Studio)
  • Hardcore on the Floor (PiYo)
  • Core Kinetics (Core de Force)
  • Dynamic Core (T25)
  • 10 Minute Ab Hammer (Hammer and Chisel)
  • 8 Count Abs (Cize)

There you have it! The good news? You CAN get in a good workout, in a small amount of space, in under 30 minutes! You just need to tell yourself you CAN. Even better? Starting off a day of meetings and conferences with a workout under your belt will make you feel like you OWN that room.
