Chocolate Vanilla Cherry Post-Workout

Peeps! In an effort to combine meals and get a little more efficient, I stumbled upon my new favorite post workout drink. Holy moly. I cannot even call this a drink. It is more like a post-workout ice-cream treat.

Think. Vanilla Ice-Cream meets Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia.

But healthy.

And prevents muscle soreness.

And builds lean muscle.

Full of branched chain amino acids. What are those? Well, here, you get an “ideal 2:1:1 ratio of Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine, branched-chain amino acids that are unique for their ability to help promote muscle protein synthesis and support rebuilding.”

What the heck does that mean in “real people” terms? From what I have read BCAA’s help with building lean muscle, speed recovery, and prevent soreness. This means you can kill your workout and then be ready to go again the next day. This means RESULTS . . . that you can SEE!

When I consistently drink Recover, I find that my muscles POP (mostly in my arms, abs, and quads). I see it in pictures and that is when my friends comment on my “tank-top arms.” (I struggle to take a compliment, but I will take that one!). What is consistently? At least 3-5 x a week. Meaning, I go through about a canister a month.

Chocolate Vanilla Cherry Post-Workout

Best way to combine Recover (my post-workout) with my Shakeology (my daily dose of additional clean protein, vitamins, probiotics, probiotics, and minerals).   This will be THICK and I eat it with a spoon!  


  1. Scoop of Chocolate Recover.
  2. Scoop (or packet) of Vanilla Shakeology (I use whey).
  3. 1 cup frozen cherries
  4. 1/2 cup ice
  5. 5 oz of coconut water
  6. 4 oz water (play with this amount until you get the right consistency)
  7. Optional (unsweetened shredded coconut) about 1 TBS 


  1. Blend together all of your ingredients.  
  2. Play with the water and ice ratio.  Different blenders blend differently.  I eyeball the water a lot and if TOO thick, I stop mid-blend and add a little more.  You want it to end up like soft serve ice-cream.  
  3. Top with 1 TBS unsweetened shredded coconut
